Worthless to Priceless: A personal Journey
Rubbing the dirt off of discovered jewel.
I was alone, asahmed, had a low self-esteem and felt empty.
I never really had many friends in school and was picked on a lot. I remember getting beat up and picked on every day. Kids would make fun of me and I felt alone and empty as if there were no purpose for my life. As I got older, I began to be engulfed by bitterness and anger.
I was seeking something to show me that I was of value and loved by someone. I asked some people at church one night about the "Jesus" thing and what it meant to be saved. They shared the Gospel with me and a few weeks later I received Christ and have been different ever since.
I found in Christ a sense of value and worth. It didnt matter that my mother wasn't there for us kids, or that I was beat up and laughed at. There was a man that loved me enough to be beaten, stripped, and murdered on a cross. He didn't just do it and that was it. I received salvation from it! I no longer am controlled by depression and low self-esteem. I can hold my head high regardless of who is around because I am a child of the King. That it a message that the youth of every generation need to hear.
I have come to see the situations and experiences I had a a boy were by the design of God's plan. I have been able to share my story with others and help them to see that the same Jesus that died for me died for them also.
I know that no matter what happens to me on this earth, if I have to stand before God and give an answer as to why He should let me into heaven it will be becasue of Jesus. I have been redeemed and washed in the blood of the Lamb. I have this faith because of the Spirit that lives within me and the promise of the Scriptures.
