Who Is Rick....and Where Did He Come From and Where Is He Going??

My life before Christ was a good life but not real life. I had a 2.1 GPA in high school in Indiana. After graduating from High School, I joined the U.S. Air Force to see the world and I spent four years on the backside of a desert in Altus, Oklahoma, USA. There a Sergeant and his wife shared with me the greatest news that I have ever heard…. that it was possible for one to have eternal life and to know what would happen to them if they were to die. It was through attending Chapel and Bible Studies at this Serviceman’s Home off-base that I discovered that the Bible was written for this main purpose….that we could know that we have eternal life. I found out who Christ was, what he had done for me. I discovered that He died on the cross to pay for my sins, rose again from the dead to purchase me a place in Heaven, which He offered to me as a free Gift (not earned or deserved). That Gift was received by faith.

A couple of years later, I discovered that this new-found faith was real! After leaving the military; I was in an extremely poor neighborhood collecting money for an electric utility. I was approached by two teenagers, held up, shot three times, arm, stomach, left lung and back (1/2 from spine) and left for dead. Most people in this area do not have phones…so the one person that was home and had a phone called 911. While I was laying and waiting…and I had approached death, I could not open my eyes and everything was very loud…..God gave me peace and there was no fear! I discovered then….that even if I were to die at that time, that I would live forever and spend an eternity with my Heavenly Father. I am sure I know where I will go if die! How about you??

I received this gift and know I have it!! It was through Dr. D. James Kennedy at Coral Ridge Presbyterian that I started my Christian growth, learning to share my faith and meeting Louise in 1966. We were married in 1968 and have three children and nine grandchildren!!

I have it and I share it now with others....there is not a person I do not come across that I wonder if they have LIFE NOW or Know How To go to Heaven

It has changed my life. I know help mission group out around the world with my business....Human Resources & Recruiting, Policies, Procedures. BUT most important...do they know how to share their faith. Dr. Kennedy was right...it is more important to teach a person how to share their faith....then it is to lead a person to faith it Christ....the latter will just happen if you share your faith...and will multiply significantly if you teach others and they teach others!!!!

I KNOW WHERE I AM GOING....and when I get there...I want others to say...thanks Rick for telling me how to get LIFE know and in the FUTURE!!! I Him...the giver of life!!
