We met Jesus in a parking lot
God knows all and His angels are all around!
We met Jesus in a parking lot.
It was 1980. My husband and I were invited to the Billy Graham crusade in Reno Nv. My whole family was praying that we would go. Long story short, we went. When we tried to get in, it was full and we were turned away. We went back to our car with our 1 and 3 year old kids. Something miraculous happened. Hubby and I looked at each other and seriously Jesus came to us. We were born again at that moment! Everything changed no more alcohol, Marijuana, burned that carton of Marlboro Reds in the fireplace. So yes we met Jesus in a parking lot for real! We went to the next church service at my family's church and they were kind of dissapointed that we did not go forward for the alter call, but it was already done! What happened next is hard to explain. About a month after that we were flying high on Jesus and had such a newfound freedom. Well Satan tried to destroy us but oh my, no way. It was around 6am. My 1 year old had a cold. He was coughing and I heard him. My mom brain said oh he's ok so I rolled over to go back to sleep. I wish I had words to accurately describe the next hour. All of a sudden I felt someone pulling on the back of my pajamas. I jumped out of bed an started to run....I ran past my daughter's room which was right next to ours. I remember being in a running stance and as I proceeded down the hallway, I looked at the family pics in the hall, I said what are you doing? I entered my son's room and he was having a grand mal seizure. I scooped him up and yelled for my husband. He took him and I called 911. He started turning blue and eventually stopped breathing. My hubby was saying no God please don't take him. We were such baby Christians we didn't even know how to pray.. I started saying the Lord's Prayer, it's what I knew. We lived in the country and the ambulance was lost. All of a sudden our door opened (that was in the days we didn't lock our doors) a man appeared and began giving our son CPR. Finally the ambulance found us, gave him oxygen and he cried and started breathing again....joyous!! We rushed to the hospital with the ambulance it was hectic to say the least. Once he was stabilized we were like who was that man? Come to find out he was a captain in the fire department and lived across the street. His wife got up to use the bathroom and she said, I don't know why but I turned in the police scanner and heard the ambulance was lost. She woke her hubby and said you need to go, something is not good. He ran across the street in his pajamas and helped us. The whole thing was so surreal....but yes we met Jesus in a parking lot!
God is able to do what we conclude to unexpected!
