Walking with Jesus, my Lord
I am no longer that young girl from childhood , that young mother, or that young widow. I have learned from the many life experiences that my God is faithful to care for me and that I will spend eternity with him in heaven.
Feeling good enough has been a lifelong struggle. Even though I grew up in a family that taught us about Jesus, I still yearned for acceptance and that is what accepting Jesus has brought to my life as well as a peace knowing I would spend eternity in heaven.
As a teenager I loved the church and all that it involved with childhood friends and family. I have many pleasant memories of my growing up years. As a 19 year old I met the young man who would become my husband. His upbringing was very different from mine and as a new Christian, many choices he made conflicted with what I thought was right. Those differences led to difficult times. I always knew God loved me and my young husband. God was there and provided for us and our children. The bumps in the road grew fewer and farther between. God was knitting our lives together more and more. When my husband was only 42 years old, my 11 year old daughter and I came home to find him unresponsive. He died on that Friday before my son's 17th birthday on Saturday. We were in for many tough times but God was there every step of the way.
God's peace is always there. Often I try to handle things on my own and things don't always feel peaceful. I'm still learning even after so many years that if I keep my eyes on Jesus, he will bring peace in any circumstance.
