Vance's Testimony
A story of peace through a life threatening personal injury, God provides peace & hope because of who He is.
A farming accident during my teenage years helped me to understand that God had a purpose for my life.
One hot July afternoon in 1986, a pressurized irrigation valve opener became unthreaded as I was attempting to turn it's crank handle and struck me in the face. It caused lacerations, bone loss, loss of teeth, and nearly took my life. By divine providence, I was able to drive an ATV a couple of miles to the farmer's house for help. The damage caused took years of reconstructive surgeries to repair and left scars. At the time, I was so scared that I would die. The accident, by all accounts, should have killed me. The years ever since have effectively been on "borrowed time". The purpose that God intended for me continues to be unfurled, perhaps to share this story with you now.
The best thing about the ordeal is that I had a peace that I would go to heaven if I died. Even now, I know that if I were to die, I would go to be with God in heaven.
