Vaan's Testimony: From a Fake to a Real Christian

Before I was saved and received eternal life, I had no understanding of eternal life and how to get it, even though I grew up in a Christian family knowing the Word of God, which left me confused as to what would happen after I die.

I recall the times when my parents would gather us children around them and they would talk to us about eternal life and judgement, starting all the way from Adam and Eve, telling the story of how eternal life is available to all who believe in the work of Jesus Christ. I was confused about all the information that was being thrown at me. Maybe this was because I didn't read my Bible enough, which I didn't read much then. I also didn't pay attention to the sermons being preached on Sundays, another part of the lifestyle I had before accepting Christ.

Then, one day, a guest speaker came to our church and spoke about eternal life and judgement which greatly inspired me to receive eternal life.

Since receiving eternal life, I am now sure of the purpose of my life.

There's no one story that can illustrate my assurance of the purpose of my life after receiving eternal life. In general though, I became sure of the ultimate reason why I am singing and playing the piano and guitar in church and working hard to improve. I knew the ultimate reason why I am working hard in school. I knew why I am loving others as I love myself. All of this is to advance the kingdom of God and bring more people to Christ so those who don't have eternal life can have it and gain the same sense of purpose I gained from receiving eternal life.

Since God's Word tells us that the life we receive from Him lasts forever, I have no fear of death now because I know whenever I die, I will go to heaven to live with God forever.
