The Word of God creates truth

Testimony What would you do if you realized that the whole Word of God is true? In February 2013, I came to understand that every word of God is true. The Word of God is not just a truth, nor just merely a good way to live. After reading the entire Bible in three months, I realized that all of history—what was, what is, and what will be—is contained within its narrative, whether I agree with it or not, whether I like it or not. Once I saw that, I have never been able to unsee it. The Bible is not just true—it defines truth. I was baptized in a Baptist church when I was 16 years old. I had attended church on and off throughout my life. My mother as well as my father were backslidden Baptists. We went to church at times but not faithfully. After my baptism, I became more active. I did some street preaching, taught Sunday school, and attended church three times a week. I worked hard, got an education, bought a house, got married, and had children. From the outside, I looked like a solid Christian man raising a Christian family. But then I did something very dangerous—I read the whole Bible in three months. It put my entire life into context with God and who He is. Since 2013, I have watched my earthly life fall apart. I’ve been called crazy, rigid, and ridiculous. I have been rejected by many people, even by members of my own family. But I cannot unsee it. Jesus fulfilled every word perfectly and completely. Now I realize there is nothing else, it is finished. The Lord has made me zealous for His Word, and there is no turning back or giving up. Through His Word, the Gospel became beautiful, my understanding of who God is and what this world is —with its distractions, its slavery, and its desires— has grown strangely dim. Now I find myself in a difficult place: what I see, I cannot seem to show to others; and what I have seen and heard, I cannot undo. I couldn’t go back even if I wanted to—and I don’t even know why I ever would. If I want to hear from God, I read his word. If truth is truth… what would you do?
