The Story of My Life- Peace and Joy through Difficulties

My relationship in Christ has provided me with an unlimited, unexplainable supply of comfort, joy, and peace that surpasses anything like it.

When I was around 8-9 years old, my father passed away from cancer. I vividly remember the one question I asked God over and over in that time of my life. Why? Why was it that he had to die? Why him, and why did it have to happen to me? Why did God take my father away from me? I said these words over and over while crying my eyes out and staring at the sky. It wasn't until I trusted in God that I came to have peace about the situation. I realized over time that God wasn't the one to take my father away, rather He was the one rock that I could turn to; He was the only one that always listened and never gave up on me. Even when I yelled in anger at him for taking my father away, He didn't punish me. Rather, He comforted me and reminded me that His love for us surpasses even the grave. Thinking back on it, if it weren't for God's faithfulness to me then, I wouldn't be the same joyful, peaceful person I am today. I know He had a plan for my life and everything happened for a reason. His love to me was without fail, for even when I cried out his name, He was there, guiding me through every step of the way.

The peace that God has given me is something that I know can never be taken away from me. It is a never ending constant in my life, for I know that if He was with me then, He's surely with me now. There is nothing in this world that could stop the peace that I have in my heart. For I know for a fact when I die, because of my relationship with Jesus Christ, I will have eternal peace in heaven with in.
