The Search Is Over

Before I received eternal life, I wandered aimlessly searching for purpose.

I remember being desperate to have this question resolved. I had been raised in a Christian environment with an awareness of God and a moral standard for living. However, I found that I was unable to live up to that standard and concluded it wasn't for me. So I began to investigate alternatives. I looked into transcendental meditation, ninjutsu, and other philosophies. I found them to be hollow, rooted in no significant purpose.

Then a family member suggested a church. During the first visit, I suddenly understood my purpose. God himself wanted desperately for me to be able to walk with him. So much so that he sent his own Son, Jesus, to pay for the sin that was keeping me away. Jesus gave his life so that I could walk with God in his purposes.

Now that I have eternal life, I have peace in knowing what I was created for.

Walking with God has been one adventure after another. His purposes seem to always involve rescue. Whether it is myself, my family, my friends or my neighbors, I am discovering that God is always reaching out and that he is always inviting me to participate. What a life of purpose. What a life of knowing God.

Now I know for certain that I have eternal life and will live with God forever. He has rescued me in this life and has secured a place for me in the next.
