The Making of a Miracle
Years of abuse lead to me drowning in fear and shame.. But my Jesus lead me to eternal freedom.
Receiving the gift of eternal life has allowed me to walk in freedom. I am free of doubt, free of guilt, and free of shame.. all thanks to the love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
A man who abused and sexually tortured me for over a year met Jesus and found salvation through being a part of my and my family’s life. I have no contact with him now and that’s what is best for both of us- but I like to believe he is still my brother in Christ and will be with me in heaven one day for eternity. I would go through it all again to insure his eternal life because Jesus would do the same for me. We are all worthy of the gift He wants to give, we just have to choose to receive it.
I have walked this life with Jesus and I have walked it without Him. It’s pretty simple: without Him, I’m lost. With Him, I’m found. Though while no part of my past has changed since excepting Him as my Savior- not the endless rape, self hatred, self destruction, or shame- NOW I am no longer hopeless as I once was. But even when I look back on my lowest moments I can see now how He never left my side. I was never alone. And when I finally realized that He had always been and would always be a safe place because of His great love for me, my life changed. I don’t live in fear. I don’t have to hurt for my younger self! Because I know how my story ends- eternity with my Beloved Jesus in paradise. And while it cost Him EVERYTHING, it cost me nothing but faith. And I can live in peace on this earth because my best Friend uses and redeems all things. And I will get to be in His arms forever one day in eternal peace.
