The Death of Death

Before I received eternal life I was afraid of dying.

I remember when I was a child, our neighbor died. It was my first encounter with death, and it really shook me up. I was scared to die because I thought I would be missing out on life. I would cry and tell my parents that I didn't want to die, and that fear stuck with me as I grew older.

Then someone shared with me how I could receive eternal life.

Now that I have received eternal life, I have confidence and hope in the face death.

I travel frequently for work, and I rarely board a plane without thinking about it plummeting to the ground. Just recently I was on a flight with a pretty bumpy descent, yet I had the peace that if it crashed, I would go to heaven.

And I know that if I were to die today, I have eternal life and will be with God when I die.
