The blessings of total obedience
From the pits to a totally blessed life. I pray my story will continue to bring glory to God.
I accepted God during my college years when my life seemed to be spiraling out of control with sin and guilt. I was raised in the church and believed in God and hell so I was dealing with a lot of stress that I would drift too far to be forgiven. It was a lie.
I believe everyone needs to come to a point where they actually accept the fact that their life is out of control without God’s grace. When I reached that point I no longer recognized myself.
God stepped in at just the right moment to show me He loved me unconditionally and wanted me to follow Him. That was the only path to finding myself again and I have never looked back. I have however been challenged to trust God at a deeper level via divorce and life challenges that I could not control. God pulled me out of a pit once again and simply said “trust me”. I have learned to always respond with an immediate OK, even when the situation makes no sense. This phase of trust in God has put my life on a whole new level where I can look back and see how far He has brought me from the pit to a glorious life full of blessings from God. I praise Him everyday!
I can see from the miraculous changes in my own life that I serve a genuine God who loves me and has a plan for my life. He has offered me eternal life in heaven with Him. This image of myself gives me a new vision of my retirement years that allows me to start every day with a purpose that glorifies God. He has done so much for me, all I can offer in return is total surrender to Him.
4 years ago God shook up my life by directing me to buy an historic home in Holly. My youngest child had just flown the coop and after my divorce I had no reason to move to a 4000 ft2 house with 100 years of amazing history and upkeep waiting to be attended to. I immediately said yes out of obedience without a clue how or why God would make this move happen. It has been the most amazing journey of my life and I praise God every day for the peace He gives me. I continue to grow stronger in my faith and purpose as I share my story with everyone I meet. God has a plan for my life and my house. I’m just along for the ride.
As I grow closer to God and learn more about His truths in the Bible, I boldly believe that I have a heavenly home awaiting me when I die. In the meantime my life contains a taste of heaven every day as I follow Him.
