Having assurance of eternal life give me an inner peace knowing that God is always with giving me the power for living a life of purpose.

I grew up in a Christian household . My mother played a major role in development and decisions to follow Christ. Now because I grew up in Christian home does not mean I was perfect or had it all together. I had great example of living the life around me but I had to make the decision for myself and be willing to change. I came into a relationship with Christ at a young age but it took work to change and mold my character. It took time for the transformation to take effect. As a kid I would lie and not tell the truth at times. My mom would not spoil the child. Her famous phrase was "what you did last ,is what you should have done first" She built up my confidence in being able to tell the truth no matter how bad I thought the issue or situation was. Also, she taught me how to talk to God about it and be straight with Him just like I learned to forth coming with her. Thankfully I learned my lesson on this. Today lying is something I just cant do.

I know God is with me because I have seen how he changed my character over the years. He has used teachers, principals, pastors ,friends and situations to shape His character in me. Taking away the negative things in my life that would keep me from having a relationship with Him allowing me to live a life of purpose
