Submit to Christ willingly. Now! You're not too old.
Since I got saved so late in life, Luke 9:62 weighs heavily, "And Jesus said unto him, 'No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.' " I rely on Philippians 3: 13-14, "forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before, I press on toward the goal unto the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." I am free to serve the Lord.
Before I received eternal life, my life was chock full of sin. You name it, I was probably engaged in it. Empty, self serving sin.
I thought I'd received Christ as my Savior decades ago in military training, but looking back, that was the problem. It was "cheap Grace" or "easy believe-ism." I hadn't received him as Lord and Savior.
I got up from studying the Bible and thought, reviewing my life, "My God! What have I become?" With my forehead against the kitchen wall, I cried out "Jesus is Lord!" Sometimes I'd think, "Wait, wait, I didn't say it quite right." Then I'd get on my knees and pray confess repent and turn from sin to Jesus ask Him into my heart as my Lord and Savior. And my life hasn't been the same since.
Now that I have eternal life, the hole in me that I'd been trying to fill with every worldly thing is gone.
I now have purpose. Bringing others to Christ. The motivation is evident, you look around and think, my gosh all these people are going to burn in hell for eternity, unless they accept Jesus as Lord and Savior.
I couldn't care less if I got shot fatally right now; I know I'm going to heaven.
Your testimony matters too
