Story of Grace Overcoming Religion
I am a believer who had tried over and over again to earn salvation but knew I could never earn the salvation I so desired. Jesus showed me that I didn't have to try to keep earning my salvation because he had already died for it.
Before I received eternal life I lived in guilt and shame because I could never feel good enough to go to heaven.
I remember being the senior outstanding Bible student award and leading singing but realizing still how sinful I was and never feeling good enough.
While at an Audio Adrenaline concert the invitation was given and salvation was offered by the work that Jesus did on the cross and I accepted it and he gave me eternal life.
Now I no longer live in shame and guilt but walk in God's forgiveness and grace.
When I first worshiped God after salvation I had an incredible peace and no longer worshiped God in fear and shame but out of extreme gratitude.
Now I no longer fear death or hell because of the victory Jesus earned for me and the assurance the Holy Spirit who lives in me gives me every day.
