So-Called Christian
I called myself a a christian yet I was afraid of the Second Coming because I'm not sure if Jesus would know really accept me but His grace changed everything.
Before my life with Christ, I always have worries and most of the time it's about the Second Coming. There's also the guilt of the things I shouldn't have done but still did even though I know it's wrong.
I grew up in a christian family so I always knew about Jesus but that was it. I just "know" Him. I have always called myself a christian but there were always this thoughts in my head espescially before I sleep. Like "what if Jesus is coming 5 minutes from now ? Am I really prepared ?" And coming from a so called "christian," it was really shameful. And then there would be a sudden recall of the things I shouldn't have done and I would feel more guilty. The worse thing was I can't get myself to talk to Him and ask for forgiveness. I felt too dirty.
Then my mom talked to me how an old woman who got shared of the gospel was forgiven by Christ. She started a prostitution den which took the future of many teenagers yet God had forgiven her. The "God's grace is bigger than your mistakes" suddenly flashed to my head and I just started crying to my mom and told her what I felt for the past years. Right there she told me that God loves me and there's nothing that would EVER change that. She prayed for me and asked me if I would receive Christ as my Savior. I said yes and finally, I felt at ease.
Now I no longer fear Jesus' Second Coming. More of anticipating it. The guilt I felt before still lingers somewhere but I know Christ has forgiven me and loves me more than I could ever know and comprehend.
My attitude after receiving Christ became different. My views, the peace and the joy. I know God still has a lot of work to do in me and I pray His will be done
And the best thing is I get to live with Jesus for eternity. No more fear of death or Second Coming. If Jesus is to come right now, I'm sure that I'm prepared for Him. But before He comes, I'm going to get my other brothers and sisters with me so that I won't be alone to greet Him.
