Shelley’s testimony

I grew up in church with loving families. I learned a lot about good Christian living, how to be good, how to give and be kind and live a good Christian life. I did not, though, ever hear that I was a sinner in need of a Savior. I didn’t hear the gospel growing up and when I went to New Life Ranch, a counselor presented the gospel to me for the first time and I knew I had never taken the steps of admitting I was a sinner in need of Jesus. I prayed with the counselor Carrie and accepted Christ when I was 12.

I went through hardships where I had to learn to trust in the Lord fully for my safety and learn that He is in control of my life and allows things to happen in our lives where we have to cry out to Him and fully rely on God for our lives. I am learning a lot in the Bible right now where people sought after riches and false gods and not the Lord. I am learning to trust in Him everyday for the needs of my family and my kid’s future college and career decisions. I am learning how to go from worry/anxiety to inner peace from God alone.

I prayed to receive Christ as my Savior and received eternal life.

Now I know that I have eternal life and I can trust in God daily for my life, career, and my kids’ future as well. I can be secure in knowing that all my children are believers as well.

I have really enjoyed the time that we have had together to study God’s Word this year.

If I were to die today, I would be certain that I would be in heaven.
