Running into Trust
It's pretty sweet to know that I have a God I can lean on and will direct me for the ultimate purpose He made me for on earth and for life after death. It's the cream of the crop.
Knowing that I have eternal life gives me a joy and a hope for the life yet to come.
This last summer I was really really indecisive and worried about my semester for this fall and whether I should continue to run cross country. There were sooo many logical reasons why I should not run and not running would make my life so much easier. For instance, I could work and make money for school, study more, and hang out with friends. The decision was really huge and for some reason I was really struggling with the pros and cons for running. I had been praying really intensely about this decision, and was playing with the idea of quitting. Unfortunately, no matter how much I justified and also used really normal reasons to just not run, I couldn't get over what I would be missing if I just stepped out in faith and trusted God. So eventually I realized God wanted me to continue. Not because I'm a good runner, but because He gave me a gift to be able to run and join the team. It's weird how after I finally decided to just continue running, I felt so much better and at peace with the decision. I knew/know that God is backing me up and on my side. Even though it's more stressful to have the burden of running (it's not always a burden) I am glad to know that God has a reason and a plan for me to be on the team. This year, I have been able to travel with my team, and God has helped me with my speed and given good friends on the team. I'm excited for what is still to come, and believe that I am not finished yet.
It's crazy to think that God cares about even the smallest things that we do. To some, deciding to run or not would probably not be a big deal, but for me and God I felt it was. So God cares about everything. The fact that He has a purpose for every step that we take is pretty awesome. Having a purpose and a reason of being on earth, from the one who created me and everyone and everything else, seriously is exciting, and knowing that we get to spend eternity with a purposeful and caring God just tops all of that and makes life just awesome!
