Running in Anger to Peace
From Anger to Peace
Before I had a relationship with God, I struggled with anger in my life. I hated my life and would do anything to mask the anger or to escape. I would attempt to find distractions in ungodly relationships.
One day, I was running. It was a hot, Texas day and I stopped under a shade-tree to cool off a bit. Under that tree I was fuming as I thought about my life and how miserable I was. I began to be angry with my parents, my self, and blamed God for it all.
I reasoned that God must be mad at me because I was mad at Him. I said, out loud, "If You are mad at me, let's duke it out right now and just get it over with..." Instead of encountering anger, I encountered a gracious God and had a life-transforming experience.
Now, after I have a relationship with God, I have peace. I no longer struggle with anger.
One day, I realized that although I was struggling with pressure and strain at work, I was no longer angry about it. God transformed my heart.
I know that whatever occurs, I have eternal life and that peace is greater than any of the situations I will ever face.
