Rob Gaschler's Salvation Story

I worried and was anxious about what I would do with my life. I was very shy and could hardly speak to people.

I did not have much going on for me as a teenager. I would lay awake at night wondering what I would do with my life and what it really meant.

My grandma had witnessed to me when I was young and had led me in a prayer I did not understand or believe. In high school I got involved in a church, baptized and a church member. But I did not have assurance I would spend eternity with God. I would hear the question, "Are you at the place in your spiritual journey where you know for sure you have eternal life?" And I would think, "I don't think I do." I was a baptized, religious church member preparing to go into the ministry yet I did not have a relationship with Christ. Finally on January 23rd 1993 I surrendered my pride and I had a life changing experience where I became a believer in Christ.

From then on I had no doubt that I had eternal life and I knew my sins were forgiven. Also my call to ministry just became more sure.

Ever since, I have gone places I would have never gone like Egypt, Czech Republic, and Brazil, I have a spiritual family I would have never had. I have become an effective communicator of God's Word by his grace and power where before I couldn't speak to anyone.

I have had a gun in my face in armed robbery twice and both times I had peace because I know for sure that I have eternal life and will go to heaven when I die.
