Restored
A broken heart is restored when one searches for True Love in one's Savior.
I am a sinner saved by grace through faith. Now, as an adult what I had been taught as a child has been made real. I now have inner peace knowing that my Savior loves, needs, and wants me as His own. His grace is sufficient.
I grew up with a praying mother and an alcoholic father. I had the good and the bad. I went to church every weekend and I sang in the choir. I did everything I was supposed to do, but I always felt that I lacked being loved. Not only by God, but by those who surrounded me constantly. My parents always told me they loved me, but it's one thing to be told and another to feel it. When I was old enough I left home and went in search of it all. I went into the world looking for that. I started drinking and smoking and thought I had finally found it in a man. He told me he loved me, but he was verbally abusive. I became pregnant with his son and when he found out he chose to walk away. I was devastated, but I chose to be a mom, and knowing that I was pregnant was the reason I returned to the church. I started searching for God. I asked Him to become real. I knew all the "important" Bible verses, but all I wanted was, if He truly loved me, for Him to wrap me in His arms and never let me go. It's been a four year process, but He's never once let me down. I know He loves my son and I know He loves me. And that is sufficient.
People have come into my life as blessings. Others as lessons, but it's through those people that God has placed in my life as blessings, where He showed me that He was taking care of me. Some of us take the easy route, while others of us have to learn the hard way. I took the latter road, but I found God after years of knowing of Him. I can say that I am now a different person. He's changed me for the better. He turned my heart of stone into one of flesh. One that can feel. One that can praise. One that is WHOLE. He began a good work in me, and He will be faithful to complete it until I am taken to be with Him in eternity. It's a constant work in progress, but He's given me the tools to make it to the finish line.
