Rescued Perfectionist
I was rescued from the crushing weight of perfectionism.
Before I received eternal life I was unable to have peace with my own failures. Admitting to myself and others that I was not who I should be was crushing. Even small shortcomings drove me to despair.
Once, I forgot to have a paper signed by my parents for school. Although the penalty was small, I was inconsolable.
Then I received eternal life.
Now I am free from the pressure to measure up.
I recently had to admit a wrong to a friend. After some time of reflection, I was able to make peace with my failure. I can learn, grow, and admit my flaws because I have a solid hope that things will be okay despite my failures.
This confidence comes from knowing for certain that I have eternal life and will go to heaven when I die.
