Rebel Without a Purpose

Before I received eternal life I didn't want "a god"to be in control of my life - I wanted to make my own decisions resulting in an empty, purposeless life.

The only purpose I had in life was to do whatever I wanted to, whenever I wanted, with people who facilitated my poor choices of numbing my emotions with drugs and alcohol, and having a good time.

Then God started removing people and the desire for drugs from my life. I didn't know why but one day I decided to look for a church to attend. Over the course of about 9 years I visited different churches until one day here in Seattle I walked into a church and the pastor shared the Gospel and invited people to accept Jesus as their Savior and my hand went high into the air. That was the day God transformed my life and I willingly gave Him control of my life.

After repenting and being forgiven of all my sins, I was baptized. I now have complete assurance that I have been completely cleansed, have been made new and will live with Christ eternally.

Before my father died of cancer, I went to visit him. The last thing he said to me was, "I'll see you in heaven." Now I know for sure that I will see my father in heaven, and will see many others who have died who trusted Christ as their Savior.

God’s Word continually provides this assurance.
