Questioning a Young Acceptance
I accepted Jesus as my Savior at a young age. As I grew older I questioned my young acceptance but God is faithful and he brought me out of a dark path.
I’m glad I have eternal life because of the inner peace and purpose in life I experience.
I remember vividly one night that I was wrestling with the idea of who Jesus was at 7 years old. My family worked churches and church camps, which meant I was poured into with so much knowledge about Jesus but it was time that I create a relationship with him by doing my part. So, that night I went into my parents room and asked them to lead me through a prayer that would accept Jesus as my Savior. From then on I continued to stay in the church but I had patches in High school where I strayed from God. I let lust and pride take over my life while still being the “church guy”. I was being a bad example to others by my lifestyle and it felt impossible to be happy without indulging in my worldly desires. I fell into a mind space that was dangerous, because I would have thoughts that my early age acceptance was powerless, meaningless and fake. I questioned my acceptance but God would remind me of his excellence. Every time I stumbled, God welcomed me back with open arms and my relationship with him grew stronger through repentance.
Through my dark patches, God has been merciful and I have seen him work in my life but I have seen him even more in my gratitudes. He has gone before me and has stayed beside me through everything. He has given me everything I need. He stays in constant conversation with me and I am grateful for the relationship he has with me.
