Personal Testimony of Susan Randolph-Frey

I believe I have eternal life because I have, since a very young age, believed that Jesus was my savior, and through my mother I was taught that God is in charge--not me. Mom was a very forgiving and compassionate women--on her knees praying every day of her life; she said God got her through situations such as whether her prematurely born twins might not survive, and then later as a widow bringing up three children without a husband.

I never knew how strong my faith was until I was diagnosed with early breast cancer and had to undergo a total mastectomy. My good friends took it upon themselves to give me all kinds of advice, while all the time not realizing that I had already surrendered my life to God's "final decision" as to whether I would live or perish. I was completely calm and said that whatever God decided, I would accept, knowing that He has a plan for me.

Now that I am involved in a deeper study and understanding of scripture and am praying more often (I got a way from that in my young adult life a bit), I feel more fulfilled and place my faith in God/Jesus and worry less about what the future might bring. He is in charge, not me!
