Peace in The Storm

I'm glad that I have eternal life because of the hope and assurance of heaven that God gives through it.

One year I was on a return flight from a work trip. The flight was going well until we tried to fly over a storm in Tennessee. I experienced some of the most intense turbulence in my life, we dropped a few times like we were on a roller coaster. During the 30-45 minutes of silence from both the pilots and passengers as we made a large scale U-turn in the sky, engines roaring, I had no fear. As the Pilot later expressed,"Yeah, I didn't like that" and another passenger had a tear in her eye, I had peace with the eternal life that I have.

I knew for a fact that I would be with God in heaven if I died, and that gave me the peace that surpasses all understanding in that airplane. I continue to live my life with that same peace and confidence that I will spend my eternity with God in heaven.
