Peace in the midst of the storm
Peace in the storm
I am so glad that I have eternal life because I have such an inner peace.
Sometimes life can be so unsettling and so uncertain. I can remember at the age of 9 my parents moved our family from Indiana to Tennessee. It was a big deal to move 6 hours away from all my friends and family. Indiana was all I had ever known. Then six months later my grandma died unexpectedly with cancer. I was broken. I had never lost anyone before. My life was turned upside down. Then 2 years later, on my 11th birthday, we received a phone call that morning from a family member letting us know that one of my uncles had died of a massive heart attack. Later that day, we received news that one of my other uncles had just been killed in a car accident. Tragedy struck again. Oh what pain! What grief! What suffering! It helped me realize life is precious and I am not guaranteed tomorrow.
Yet, it was God's peace that gave me great hope and assurance through this difficult time in my life. I was so thankful that I knew for sure that if I were to die today that I would go to be with God in heaven.
