Overcoming Fear

Before I accepted Jesus as my savior, I was afraid I was going to lose my life either at the hands of my ex husband or some other way for example when I went to Israel.

We were on a flight from Israel and our plane ran into some very strong turbulence. The plane felt like it was dropping out of the sky. I was so afraid I was going to die that night. I couldn't image this happening after all we had just left the place where Jesus walked and shared his gospel. I prayed that God would save us.

I took a discipleship class and learned that if I had truly trusted God that night, I would not have had a reason to fear dying. Rather than giving into fear now I trust God instead for I know I have eternal life.

I don't let fear control me anymore for I trust Jesus and now when situations come up that would have frighten me in past, they no longer frighten me.

I have peace now knowing that if I died today, I would be in Heaven with my father.

My fears are gone and my faith is so much stronger now. It is because of that strong faith that I know for certain if I died today I would be in Heaven .
