No more fear

Before I received eternal life I had a fear of death.

I remember laying in my bed many nights just crying because I knew if I was to die in my sleep I would not go to heaven. As a child I grew up in church so I had a head knowledge about what the bibles teaches on eternal life, but I was trying to do something to earn it.

Then God revealed to me that there was no way I could ever earn it, and I accepted the absolutely free gift of eternal life.

Now that I have eternal life I no longer fear death.

While in college I had the opportunity to go on a trip to a foreign country. Though the area we were in was pretty safe, the country was a very hostile place with a war going on. There was one situation that stuck out to me while were entering the airport to come home. We had to stop at a security check point where there were tanks on both sides that had men with machine guns ready at a moments notice. Even though where I was sitting was nerve racking to say the least, I had no fear of dying.

I know for certain that if I was to die today I would live forever with Christ in heaven.
