My Way or God's Way?
The direction of my life changed radically (for the best!) when I decided to follow Jesus.
As a young college student, I was self-focused, pursuing my dreams.
I thought I knew what I wanted and needed to be successful, at least as the world defined success.
At age 21, while reading Romans, I came under conviction that I needed to decide: will I live for myself or the Lord? I chose Jesus, was baptized, and my life took a trajectory toward eternal life.
Knowing that my relationship with Jesus would go beyond this mortal life, following him daily removed the pressure of having to perform, please others, and try to do things on my own. The reality of eternal life has given me a sense of confidence and expectation. As well, a desire for others I know and love to spend eternity with Jesus.
I gave up my vocational ambitions and, feeling called by God, left the secular college I was at to attend a Christian college and prepare for some kind of ministry.
Jesus has always taken me from something good to something better. Life is good, and I know eternal life will be even better!
