My transformed life by Grace
The fulfilled life I received through the gift of eternal life in Christ Jesus.
Before I received Christ, things in my life seem to be working fine, had things that perhaps others liked to have but I knew that there was emptiness in me because I just didn't have the peace and joy in that place. I knew I needed God in my life but thought I have to clean up first, or rather work first before I can be accepted. Even though I still continued to give my life to Christ and accepted Salvation one Sunday during an Altar call, I still was not convinced God has accepted me until three people followed up on the call I had made to accept Jesus after that Sunday. When I looked at one lady in the three, she convinced me that I can follow Jesus without her saying a word. Just her appearance made me convinced that I am accepted the way I am. I have never looked back since.
When I closed down a business that I though I had put all the investments and time into, I experienced a sense of hopelessness. The sense of guilt and condemnation, thinking perhaps it was all a wrong move, I perhaps had missed God in it. I remember being encouraged by the scripture in Psalms 127, "Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain". Shortly after, my brother presented me with an opportunity to come work with him, through the opportunity I got the sense of dignity again, I began regrouping and began a journey of understanding that "all things work together for good to those that love God."
Following the visit by the 3 people that followed up the week after I gave myself to Christ, I got so excited by hearing about the things of God, as a result, came to church often, joined a homecell, started serving in the church, attended just about most of the courses offered by the church. i got to hear over and over again when an altar call was made that I have the free gift of eternal life and my my confidence as a result grew in the fact that I will never earn it trough my own efforts / attempts to be good.
Knowing I have eternal life brought joy and fulfillment in my life and filled the vacuum of the emptiness I experienced before
When the business closed down, even though the experience of hopelessness cripped in, it was short lived by the word of God that brought hope and reason for keep on keeping on again.
Because I know I have been saved by grace through faith and believe in the Name of the Son of God and His finished work on the cross, I am certain if I were to die, I am going to heaven.
