My testimony template
A personal relationship with God changes the way you spend your time and make decisions. It provides a foolproof blueprint for life, and at the end of the story, you win!
I'm glad I have eternal life because it guides my decisions and purpose in this life, and puts things into perspective.
There are so many ways that one can spend his/her time - pouring extra hours into work, pursuing a hobby, watching TV, etc. None of these have to be a bad thing, but I want to spend my time in a way that honors God and will have an eternal return on investment. When I think about where I am spending my time it can help to make decisions when I consider things that will help me make disciples and become a better disciple. It also gives me a peace to know that my purpose is to love God and keep his commandments and the Great Commission - it avoids a lot of soul-searching that a lot of young adults go through. It provides a filter for decisions. And if you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything. I know that is kind of general, but it's how I decided to make time for things like Discipleship Essentials and Global Impact even though I could have done a lot of other things with the hours I spent in those ministries.
It is so wonderful to have the assurance that I will live in heaven with God someday. It makes the cares of the world seem like less of a big deal (2 Corinthians 4:17) I have this assurance because I know the Scriptures that promise it, such as Romans 10:9: "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, then you will be saved."
