My testimony
You know, what ever happens in my life, today I have the assurance that not only did Jesus Christ forgive my sins but that when I do die I will be going to heaven for sure.
When I found out that I had cancer it made me think about the fact that I could actually die.
I wondered what will happen if I should die in the next few months? I was really anxious about the possibility that I could die within the next year!
But even though I was anxious about dying I knew for certain that when I do die I would be going to heaven. There was just no doubt about it.
My thoughts instantly turned to the time years ago that I placed my faith and trust in Christ and became a Christian. That's when I finally had peace of mind.
One early morning as I was sitting in my recliner drinking coffee and reading my Bible I knew that I knew that my life was safe with Christ. As I read, the Bible was giving me assurance that I was a Christian and Jesus really was the Lord of my life. The more I read, the more it confirmed that I really knew Jesus as my Savior. I couldn't help but smile!
Back in the 70's I prayed to receive Jesus Christ in my life and asked him to take control of my life and forgive my sins and he did. When I remembered that, I had peace of mind because I knew that I had not only been forgiven of all my sins but Jesus had given me the gift of eternal life in heaven with Him!
