My Testimony
me and God
My life before I met Jesus was full of emptiness, with no purpose. I had low self-esteem and was very insecure. I had always feared death and was wondering that what would happen to me from confession of my sins to a priest on Saturday until the following Saturday. I did not do enough works or even prayed a lot, so I was concerned that nobody would pray for me once I died, so that I could get to heaven by people praying for me in purgatory.
I always wondered where I would go if nobody prayed for me when I died. I was relying on the works of others, and was not even concerned about working for GOD, through the Catholic church works based religion. I knew that I accured some points by being an altar boy for many years, but as I got older, I got more sinful.
It was my gym trainer who shared with me about eternal life and inner peace in knowing that I know that I can live a life of peace and forgiveness. I had a meeting with a pastor once day, and I told him that I don't think I was called to be a disciple of Christ because of all the wrong that I have done. That Sunday during an altar call he wipped out his cell phone and said all those that need a call, here it is. Now is the time for you to answer that call. done hesitate.
Now that I have eternal life, I am so grateful, that I want to share it to others, that have not heard the good news, and that they too can have that inner peace that I know have. I no longer work for a church religion, but out of gratitude, I am serving my King.
Since my salvation, I have had many encounters with the unsaved and have shared the good news with them, that they too may have everlasting life, by living not for themselves but for God, because out of gratitude for what He has done on the Cross for me.
Now that I know that I know I am going to heaven, it is by His grace, and not my works, which I could never ever repay Him for what He has done. I live my life with the assurance not arrogance that His shed blood has given me the sustainance to continue in this temporary world we call life.
