My Testimony of Transformation
My testimony is one of transformation. I once was lost but now I am found. Was blind but now I see. Even if my testimony helps just one person, 2 hours of typing this will have been worth it. I thank God for every day of my life and I hope this helps other people grow in their faith as well.
I am so happy that I have eternal life because I know that God is there for me and is always with me.
Since I was baptized at 4 years old, I never felt like I had the choice to be with Jesus. I never had the chance to develop a relationship with him or live my life with him. I felt like my parents had chosen a major life decision for me and had not let me choose for myself. This made me sort of a rebel to the faith. I didn’t really believe in God anymore and I hid it well from my family. When I was 14 I was invited to attend a reawakening conference and I reluctantly went. I mostly went just because I wanted time away from home. I am so very glad that I went because I came home a completely different person. It was the last day I was going to spend at the conference and I attended a prophecy workshop. There was a time of prayer and a man walked up to me and told me that he felt led to pray for me to have confidence. All day I was thinking about it. What could it mean? I thought it might mean confidence in myself like how I look or in my school work. At the end of the day there was a period of time where we could invite the Holy Spirit into us by holding out our hands. I felt REALLY awkward and out of place but I gave it a try. I felt tingles in my fingertips and had immense peace, comfort, and relief. Someone spoke to me. I’m not sure exactly what they said, but whoever it was said something connecting confidence, faith, and God. I then immediately knew that I believed in God and my faith was restored. I invited Jesus back into my life and I just started crying out of pure joy and happiness. It was definitely a mountain top experience. My dad asked me why I was crying and I told he I was happy. He said, “You sure don’t look happy.” I assured him that I was very happy. I went to the front of the room to be prayed over and the man who prayed for me prayed that all of my grief and anger would wash away. He brushed off my shoulders as he said this and I immediately thought of my younger sister (5) and felt so much love for her. (We are mortal enemies although I try not to show it) the man also spoke in tongues as he prayed over me. He said shala alaha ka’ah. After looking it up, I discovered it means: home, God and disheartened. I interpret that as I was disheartened and had drifted away from God, but he restored me and brought me home again. Another thing that happened recently happened at my church. My dad is the pastor of my church and had a vision to have an extra worship service called the catacombs. Again, I was reluctant to go but I went anyways. I had 3 occurrences. The first one happened when my grandmother said something about angels. I don’t remember what she said, but as soon as she was done saying it, I saw the entire sanctuary absolutely filled with angels. It was like a golden filter was put over my eyes and the room was filled to the brim with angels. They were in the air and sitting in pews next to people. They were everywhere! The really special thing is that that morning before the service, my grandmother looked outside and saw Angela assembling as far as the eye could see. They were all wearing blue. (The color of heaven) One angel said, “The veil is thin.” It certainly was because I saw them all worshiping with us in the church. I saw them through my own eyes and it was not a vision. I saw them physically with my open eyes. The second thing that happened was that Jesus touched my back. I was feeling super disconnected from God and was sitting in the pew of the church praying. I then felt a hand on my back, but no one was sitting behind me or next to me. When I moved my back around to see if it was just my shirt touching my back, the hand stayed. After I ‘tested’ the hand, I immediately knew it was Jesus, not an angel. It was engraved into my brain that it was Jesus. A little while later, a second hand was on my back. Same thing, except this one was an angel. During those moments, I never felt closer to Jesus in my entire life. The third thing that happened was just amazing. I was sitting in the pew praying and worshiping God, but it still didn’t fell like the he was really there in that room. Then the verse popped into my head, “Do not come any closer! Take off your sandals, for you are standing on holy ground.” I knew that I had to take off my shoes and socks, so I did. As soon as my bare feet touched the floor, it felt like the room was thick with the presence of God. He was there in that room that night.
Confidence is such an important word in my life now. God has transformed my life and I am so happy that I walk with him. I am now 15 years old and I hope to continue growing in Christ and I hope to have more experiences like the ones listed above.
