My Testimony
Even in sin and rebellion, God was faithful. He never left me even when I ran from him.
I’m thankful for eternal life because it has freed me from the troubles and heart ache of my sinful life.
I kept looking for happiness and freedom in sin whether that be partying, drinking, drugs, sexual activity, but it always left me feeling worse than before or consequences from those actions depressed me. What I thought was freedom (free to sin) what not freedom at all but hell on earth. I felt so lost and hopeless that I contemplated suicide. It wasn’t until I got married that I started going back to church. Then while helping raise my stepson, I wasn’t as wild because I wanted to be a “good” influence on him. Then when I was pregnant with my daughter, I felt God telling me there was more. It wasn’t until I decided to sign up to be discipled by a lady at church that I found out what that more was. It was freedom FROM sin. Sin was never the answer. It was a daily walk with my savior, Jesus Christ.
I vividly remember receiving the Holy Spirit as a child. I know I was saved then but I turned away from God in my teens but God saved me from myself and brought me back to him. I can recall now the pull to him and the feeling that something was missing while I was living in sin after my salvation. I know when I die I will get to be with my savior because I can feel his presence everyday. He is faithful to love me. All I do is seek him and I am met with his grace.
