My Testimony
Before I received eternal life, I was striving and never felt good enough. After I received eternal life, I found peace and joy, knowing heaven is God’s gift, not something I can earn.
I was self-righteous but also helpless.
Before I received eternal life… I thought the way to heaven was by being good and doing good. In school, I gave most of my pocket money to classmates who couldn’t pay their fees, and I often volunteered to help wherever I could. Over time, I became self-righteous, thinking I was better than others because I sacrificed more. It really frustrated me when I made mistakes—like losing my temper or telling lies—because I felt like those sins canceled out all the good I had done. So, I felt trapped in a cycle of trying to do good but inevitably failing. I was helpless.
Then I received the gift of eternal life.
After I received eternal life… I overcame the self-righteousness and was freed from the guilt and shame of my mistakes.
I stopped comparing myself to others or trying to prove I was worthy. I focused more on trying to know God out of love and gratitude rather than fear. I continue to give and serve those in need not to prove anything, but simply to show care. For example, I gave supplies to refugees in my resident country to help them build new lives since many had come with almost nothing. I did this, simply out of gratitude to GOD, and not to buy or pay my way to heaven.
I live with peace and joy, knowing my place in heaven is secure.
