My Testimony

I am thankful for my relationship with God because he gave me a purpose and hope. I was lost without Christ, but His forgiveness and unconditional love has changed my life.

My mind has been filled with self-hate, perfectionism, and anxiety. My self hate and perfectionism led me in and out of depressive episodes because of the hopelessness and feeling like I would never be enough. I was tired and felt like I had no purpose. But God spoke to me through other people in my life, through the Bible, and through music. He reminded me that Jesus died on the cross and rose again so that I didn't have to be perfect. I no longer had to be anxious because I knew that God was in control over every aspect of my life. I no longer had to try to be perfect because God loved me despite my short comings. The God of the universe loved me the same before I knew Him and after I came to know Him. Nothing I can do could change His love for me and when He looks at me He looks at me with abundant joy, love, and pride in His eyes. I am overwhelmed with comfort knowing God has unconditional love for me despite my shortcomings. I can surrender my perfectionism to Christ because my value is not found in my works, but instead it is found in Christ. I still sin but Christ's love for me makes me desire to become more like Him. God is actively reconciling me back to Him every single day. Every single day He forgives my sins and challenges me in love to become more like Him.

I know that I have a relationship with Christ because I have accepted the free gift of salvation. God gave this gift to me through Jesus Christ's death and resurrection on the cross. I continue to see God move in my life and in the lives of the people around me, and that brings me joy and comfort.
