My Testimony - God is always at work
"Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there." - Psalms 139: 7-8 God is always with us!
The gift of eternal life through Christ has transformed my life into one of peace and love, and I will continue to grow in my faith and walk in God's plan.
Growing up in a Christian household, I was always aware of the love of Christ. I would go to church every Sunday morning, pray before every meal, and even talk about Jesus sometimes to my peers; however, I never really understood what the Christian life was all about. There were many days I wasn't interested in going to church, praying, or even opening my Bible, and I realized that the Jesus I proclaimed about wasn't someone I truly knew in my heart. It wasn't until I was around 12 or 13 that something truly changed within me. It was a Sunday morning, and the church service had been relocated to the high school in my town. Similar to other Sundays, I wasn't the most excited to go; however, I was unaware that God was working in my heart that day. Typically, my mind was not paying attention to the sermon, but on this day, I decided to tune in to what the pastor was saying. I can't remember exactly what He said, but it touched my heart in a way I can't explain. I became increasingly interested in knowing Jesus, and a few months to a year later, I decided to truly accept Christ's salvation. Although I truly experience the love of Jesus, my life has not been perfect. I have dealt with anxiety, overwhelming thoughts, pride, and fear, but every time I remember what the Bible says about Jesus and what I've seen Him transform in my life, I can't help but feel an overwhelming sense of peace. I'm not the most confident person, and my life has its ups and downs, but I thank Jesus every day for taking me from a broken image of Him to a restored hope in the life He has laid out for me. It's not only my life that has been transformed, but I've also seen the Holy Spirit at work in my family and friends, and I'm excited to continue growing in my relationship with the one who has set me free, Jesus Christ.
The God who touched my heart then is the same God who is continuing to work in my life now. I don't know what the future holds, but I have peace that where the Lord leads me is exactly where I need to be. It is by knowing, loving, and experiencing Christ that I am confident I will see Him in heaven, and because of this, I will witness to others about just how faithful Jesus is!!
