My Testimony about the saving grace of Christ

Before I put my faith and trust in Jesus as my Lord and savior, my life was full of sin. I was brought up in the church environment so I knew about God and Jesus but thought I wasn’t good enough to go to Heaven. In my senior year of high school, the girl I was dating got pregnant. I just knew that I could never overcome that with God. I was full of guilt and shame. We got married in a civil ceremony, had two girls and five years later got divorced. After the divorce I figured that I had blown it again. I married again but pretty much lived for myself.

My career included working undercover in narcotics enforcement. During that time I was drinking too much and hanging out in bars. There were times when I was unfaithful to my wife, and for several years I continued this pattern. Life became all about my comfort, power, and needs.

During a very low point in my life, I hit rock bottom. I reached out to God and put my faith in Christ Jesus. I surrendered my life to follow Jesus. I knew that God had forgiven me of my sins. I was being transformed from the old me into a new man and everything changed in my life.

My family began going to church. I knew that my life was indeed different. I felt God’s love, mercy, and grace. I learned how to be a Godly husband and father. I knew that God had forgiven me and had a plan for my life. I had a new life in Christ and life has never been the same.

On a trip to Mexico I was flying from southern Mexico to Mexico City. Our plain encountered a terrible storm the passengers were fearful of crashing. As I looked at the people around me, I had peace in the midst of chaos. I knew that if the plane did crash and we all died, that I would be in the presence of God instantly. I wasn’t afraid of death because I was guaranteed eternity with God.

I am now completely confident that that when my earthly body dies, I will be in Heaven with God.
