My Story
To be continued
Before I fully surrendered to Christ I struggled with a terrible temper and anger .
I invited Jesus to come into my heart and save me at a very young age . I was fortunate as a child to be raised in a Christian home. We normally would always attend church on Sundays . My mom was what I would consider as the example of what living as a Christian looked like . Early on in my teenage years I started struggling with my relationship with my father. To me it seemed as though I could never do anything to please him . I found myself full of anger and resentment . I never once asked God to help me with my anger or to help me improve my relationship with my father . The anger followed me through high school and throughout most of my adult life. Even though I was in church I hid it well. I guess it’s fair to say that I never fully surrendered to Christ . In my mind I did but I never saw the change everybody else talked about . I am 100 percent that I asked him into my heart . But I didn’t give all of me . I had no real relationship with Christ in my quiet time. I was not spending time in prayer , nor was I reading his word . On the outside I looked normal . But on the inside I was searching for happiness in all the wrong places. I continued on my own trying to repair my relationship with my father . Upon Graduation I was blessed to have the opportunity to work for Greenville Fire Rescue . This was an amazing job that I truly loved. It was like having another family away from home. I really enjoyed being able to help people in there time of need . As the years progressed the stress of the job started to wear on me combined with the disappointments in life, relationship problems , regrets, and insecurities . I knew something in my life had to change . I remember during a Sunday morning message called the dash . The dash represented the time from birth to your death. The pastor preached the sermon and asked the congregation . When you die what will you be known for he asked ? That dash that represents your life. It was that moment that I asked God for a second chance . I rededicated my life to Christ. Was I perfect at that point no . But I knew God had not given up on me. I have had so many interactions with God that the common man would not believe. But I know he has a plan for my life .

I am grateful that I know my God has given me a second chance with a relationship with him so that I can grow with him daily . It is truly a relationship . You have to spend time with him in his word and in prayer.
Your testimony matters too
