My Story

I know that God's always with me, he was with me when I came to faith in him at a young age and he stayed with me when I tried to run away from him. I'm so incredibly thankful that I have the assurance of heaven despite my many mistakes.

I recall being 18 years old and trying to outrun God but I can say with absolute certainty that I knew he was there in one particular moment. I was traveling by bus and we had a layover in Knoxville TN. When we arrived I was in the smoking area with about 50 young Marines that they had overbooked on busses back to their base. One in particular convinced me that I should go with them that they would sneak me on their bus. At the time I thought it was a great idea because I was extremely naive. They said my bus driver would not care if I was not on the bus. But God had an angel driving my bus that night. He came and found me with them and told me I needed to get on the bus. I cannot explain the powerful feeling that came over me and I went with him. I think back on that and know that I would not have made it out of that situation without God's intervention.

I know that I have made mistakes in life but I also know that Jesus died on the cross for me and I will be with him one day in Heaven. When I was diagnosed with bi-lateral opthalmic aneurysms I was filled with an indescribable peace although I did not want to leave my kids and grandkids I realized an important thing that I wasn't afraid to die because I knew I was headed to a much better place.
