My Story
My arrogance changed to uncertainty over my ability to control my life situations. Turning my life over to Jesus allows me to be contentment with where God has placed me.
Before receiving eternal life I felt anxiety over things I could not control.
As a fairly successful mechanical engineer I was a little arrogant of my successful early career. I raced motorcycles on Sundays and shook my head as I watched the "church going do-gooders" heading to their meetings. Many of those I knew to be out drinking just as I was on Saturday night.
An older brother nagging me with 'hell and brimstone' speeches and friends inviting me to church influenced my decision for Christ. However, the greatest impact on me came from watching Gaither Homecoming videos on TV. They were singing about God and Jesus and heaven while laughing and crying. I wanted what they had. My eventual insatiable need for knowledge of the Bible led to reading and learning and eventually to a saving knowledge of Christ which led to intentional behavioral changes.
I now have or at least attempt to have peace regardless of my circumstance.
Back in 1996 the unexpected need to euthanize a favorite horse, the death of my father, the reality of working under a tyrannical boss plus other life pressures eventually led me to know a peace that overcame all anxieties and the knowing that I am destined for eternal glory in heaven put this short life in true perspective.
The head knowledge I gained reading the bible told me God wanted me in heaven. The subsequent faith in that realization makes me long for that eternal glory.
