My Story
Our good deeds don't cause God to love us more, just as our sin doesn't cause Him to love us less.
Knowing that Jesus lived a perfect life and died a sacrificial death, gives me the peace to know that I don't have to be perfect - that my past mistakes don't define my future, which is now filled with hope.
My high school years and early 20's were filled with this idea that I'd never be good enough. I knew that where my sin ran deep, God's forgiveness ran deeper - yet it always felt as if I was one step away from using up His abundant grace and mercy. As years passed and seasons of depression came and went, God slowly chipped away at this buried lie that I couldn't make mistakes. I began to realize that I didn't have to perform and do-good in order to be "right" with Him. God didn't create me with the option to be perfect - He created me with the opportunity to grow.
I know that my eternity and God's love for me are secure - not because of anything I did for Him, but because of everything He did for me.
