My Search for Meaning

Something was missing, but nothing could fill the emptiness I felt inside or give my life meaning.

During my late teens I had tried relationships, philosophy, eastern religion, yoga, meditation, and experimented with mind-expanding drugs. But none of it filled the void or answered my deepest questions. Inside I was still searching and asking, "Why am I here? What's life about? What's the purpose of all of this?" I remember thinking, "There has to be more to life than just growing up, going to school, maybe getting married and having kids some day, growing old... and then dying." There had to be more to life than this.

I got down on my knees and whole-heartedly, with everything that's within me, called out to God to help me! I started crying and felt a peace like I'd never experienced before. In that moment, I received Jesus Christ and eternal life.

My emptiness is gone! I am now experiencing the "something more" I had been searching for for so long - a personal relationship with Jesus Christ!

Even when I'm all by myself, I don't feel alone or empty inside anymore. Life still has its up and down moments sometimes. But, my "new normal" is gratitude, trust, and connection. I'm learning to rely on my relationship with Jesus. When I'm feeling I a little bit down or overwhelmed, I just need to spend time with him and he fills my cup with enough for me and others around me. I just have to stay connected to him. That's what a personal relationship with Jesus is like for me.

The relationship I'm now experiencing with Jesus isn't just for this life - it's for all eternity! That's so amazing to me! I know now, that the purpose of life I was so desperately searching for, is only found in a relationship with Jesus Christ. He's the destination I was seeking! The one my restless heart was searching for all along. And now, I have eternal life and will be with him in heaven forever!
