My Personal Testimony
I was not raised in a Christian home and I was following the same examples that I was shown by my parents. But when I finally went to church and learned about Jesus and that I could be a disciple too, it changed my life and mindset. He set me free from sin and I have been able to raise my children in a Christian home.
Before I received eternal life I had some wrong ideas about what was right and wrong.
I was raised around drinking and smoking, my dad cussed like a sailor and I was following in those same patterns and mindset. My parents never told me that drinking, smoking, cussing, or having sex was not a good thing. I just thought it was what adults did.
Then I went to church for the first time regularly and learned about Jesus and His Disciples. It was life changing when my teacher said that I could be a disciple of Jesus too. I prayed with all of my heart that He would save me, forgive me, and show me how to be His disciple. He changed me and my life.
Now that I have eternal life and a personal relationship with God, I do not desire to have the kind of lifestyle that I grew up in.
Today, learning and talking about God is my favorite thing to do. The more I learn the more I realize there is so much to learn and I have been able to raise my kids in a Christian environment.
I have no doubt of my salvation. There is a special closeness that you feel when you are close to God. He gives a peace that is so amazing.
