My Personal Testimony
Jeremiah 29:11-14 reflects upon my journey to find my life and relationship through Christ. "When you seek me, you will find me if you search with all your heart."
Before I came to know Jesus personally, I had the feeling that something was missing from my life.
Throughout my late teen years, I was seeking to experience God in a purposeful way. I had attended church as a child, but my family did not attend together as I grew older. I was curious to "find God" and explored spiritual beliefs and worship experiences in an attempt to find the path that I needed to be on.
In the beginning of my freshman year at college, far away from home, I met new friends who shared their Christian faith with me. Soon after attending a Billy Graham movie, my friends prayed with me and I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior.
I knew that God loved me and that through the sacrifice of Jesus, I could experience a closer walk with God in my life. That's exactly what I had been seeking! I also found out about "grace"... something that I did not deserve or earn, but which provided me great peace of mind.
I became involved with a campus Christian fellowship group. That really helped me as a new Christian to learn more as I began to study the Bible. It gave me a support group that could answer my questions and pray for me.
While I feel that I still have so much to learn about the Christian walk, I am grateful for my life's experiences that have brought me to Jesus. Our awesome God has provided for me every day, and I still want to become what He wants me to be. I will see Him one day face to face in heaven when He calls me home. I cannot understand His ways, but I rest in the fact He is in charge of all creation and He has provided for me and for all who receive him.
