My Personal Testimony

Before I received eternal life I was selfish.

Everyone I knew liked me, and that was great because I loved myself to the point of being self-centered. I remember hearing about God's love for me and not really being all that moved by it - I didn't have the sense I was a sinner without hope. It made sense that God loved me, because I loved me.

Then God showed me how hopeless I was as a sinner, and I believed in Jesus Christ as my substitute and Savior. After this season of my life, I had peace because I knew Jesus had stood in my place and I was forgiven.

Now that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior, I have been freed from self-centeredness and given peace with God.

I don't only do what makes me happy and God's given me a concern and love for others. Instead of comparing myself with them I see them as loved by God.

I know that I've been freed from the penalty of my sin and will be with God forever because of what Jesus has done for me.
