My Personal Testimony

Before I received eternal life I had a lot of guilt and shame. Guilt of my past sins and wrongdoings as a kid and as an adult. Shame of an addiction I had struggled with since adolescence to adulthood.

I’ve struggled with an addiction I had from my adolescence into adulthood. I always felt ashamed and guilty for it but felt powerless to overcome it. I feared it would ruin my marriage if it was ever discovered but I couldn’t break free of it on my own.

Then I discovered how to have eternal life and began to live differently.

Now that I have eternal life I was given the power to change and have peace knowing I am forgiven.

One night I prayed out to God and surrendered myself to Him. Ever since that night, the addiction I had was gone. There was no more urge or compulsion. What I had tried and failed to do on my own was overcome and removed from my life in this one night in earnest prayer.

Scripture tells us that we can cast our worries and burdens on Jesus and He will give us rest. He saved me from my addiction. Scripture also says, “These things I have written…that you may know that you have eternal life.” This is how I know I have eternal life. He keeps His promises.
