My Personal Testimony

Before I received eternal life I was always afraid of dying.

You see, I was raised in a Catholic home and we faithfully went to church every Sunday, however my parents instilled in me an unhealthy fear of the Lord in which I remember thinking of Him as this God with a big hammer in his hand ready to pounce me over the head when I did anything wrong. I tried so hard to always do the right thing but I found myself constantly doing the wrong thing, so I began to fear dying thinking that I would not make it to Heaven.

Then when I was a teenager I started going to a bible study across the street and I discovered the truth about how a person gets to heaven, and so I received eternal life.

Now I have such a peace in my heart when it comes to dying.

Ten years ago, at the age of 30, my son suddenly died and although it was at first a shock and I was devastated, I immediately had such a peace come over me, knowing that because he had received eternal life, he was in the arms of our beautiful, loving God, and that one day when I die I will see my son again.

I now have such a peace knowing that no matter what I do, when I die, I too will be with the Lord in Heaven.
